This was my second time at the salon my first experience was one of the best experiences I've had getting a haircut. Unfortunately this time I had to book last minute and the previous stylist was not available so I went with highly rated Stylist, Lea. Despite showing photos and stating clearly that I wanted layers, I realized a couple hours later at home, when the curls relaxed that I had no layers at all, and that my front sections of hair were drastically uneven. I returned immediately to the salon, where I brought my concerns to the stylist, who refused to see the length discrepancy but worked like she was fixing it, and when I asked why I didn't have layers she said "I told you no. I wanted to keep the length sharp and blunt." Somehow I ended up apologizing for misunderstanding her, despite her completely disregarding what I asked for. She added a small layer when I explained that I have voluminous hair that will turn into a triangle look if it doesn't have shape and layers. When I asked her to please add another because I like and wanted layers and know my hair will still poof out, she said "yes, okay" did some more cutting and then said "so I didn't add a layer, I wanted to keep the blunt look so I just thinned out the ends of your hair". At this point I had lost trust in her and chose to leave, hoping at least she had fixed the length issue. I was out the rest of the evening, got home to see my hair was still different lengths. Since it was Saturday night, I sent an email knowing they wouldn't see it until Monday. I waited for a response until Tuesday afternoon, and never received one, so I returned to the salon. A stylist at the reception desk was shocked I had not gotten a response, and immediately noticed the length issue without me having to mention it. I was back with the stylist who had lied to me, and not given me the cut I wanted. She proceeded to treat me as though I had very wavy hair (I don't) but she eventually fixed the length after I showed her photos of the clear difference of length with wavy and straightened hair, and arrived with my air-dry hair. She also asked me if this was still really about the layers, clearly acknowledging that she didn't give me the cut I asked for. I responded that I couldn't even care about the layers because I just wanted my hair to be even. She then got a colleague who had never seen my hair to tell me that length differences happen when you have really wavy or curly hair (again, I don't) but she was going based on what the stylist who did my hair told her. The second stylist also sounded really nervous because she though that fixing the length issue would mean that the blunt cut may not look as straight, even though that was never something I wanted. After I had two people tell me I apparently didn't know the texture of my hair, still without the cut I wanted, and still being told that the issue "must have been because of styling" instead of being uneven. I left feeling completely disrespected, lied to, disappointed and frustrated. I don't think I will ever step foot in this salon again as they now are fine with disregarding what a client asks for, favoring what they want to do without consent and lying to clients about it.
